The fire company was awarded the 2009 Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Department of Homeland Security. The grant award was $102,600.00 which was used to purchase the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). They have been purchased and delivered. The firefighters are now training with them and will be in service in July.

New for 2010
Our project for this year is to purchase
two thermal imaging cameras. These cameras would be placed on our fire engine on
our ladder truck. These cameras greatly increase firefighter safety and a
firefighter's ability to preserve life in the event of an emergency.
The present camera we own is approximately ten years old and due to advancements in thermal imagery, the camera needs to be replaced. Current camera design allows firefighters to find trapped occupants in zero visibility conditions or find heat that may be inside of a wall, reducing the -amount of property damage caused trying to locate the origin of a fire. The cost of one camera is approximately twelve thousand dollars.
Please be generous with your donations.
Last year 1591
donation letters were sent out to the businesses and residents we serve, and
only 283 returned.
The members of this department would like to extend a most sincere thank you to those of you who donated in the past and look forward to your continued support. We also encourage others to make the most of this opportunity to donate to the fire company. With out your support, fire protection is impossible.
